The addition of the Soft Credit/Matching Gift Flag to acknowledgement processing has been a game changer, especially for DAF acknowledgements. However, there is still a gap in the information available in the soft-credit output.
When the soft-credit recipient is the person we need to acknowledge, communicate with, or report on, we need more than their name or constituent ID. We need access to their full constituent information directly from the soft-credit output.
Example:
Hard Credit: Smith Family Charitable Fund
Soft Credit: Jane Smith
The soft-credit output identifies Jane Smith, but does not provide the additional constituent information needed to easily produce an acknowledgement or other communication.
Expand the Soft Credit output/export to include relevant information from the soft-credit recipient's constituent record, including:
Constituent Name and ID
Primary Constituency
Address
Addressee
Salutation
Other applicable name formats
Other relevant constituent fields
Where multiple addresses, addressees, or salutations exist, users should be able to select the appropriate one.
This would be valuable not only for DAF acknowledgements, but also for stewardship, reporting, event follow-up, prospect management, and other processes where the soft-credit recipient's constituent information is needed.
Currently, obtaining this information can require additional queries, exports, and manual data manipulation. Making the soft-credit recipient's constituent information available directly in the output would save time, reduce manual work, and improve data accuracy.
The Soft Credit/Matching Gift Flag was a huge improvement. Expanding the soft-credit output to include full constituent information would make this functionality even more useful.
this would be great for mailing lists
