Ability to restrict editing access on select VIP records (such as Board of Trustees members) to only certain access levels would prevent staff members from "updating" VIP records incorrectly. We have run into issues with AddressFinder misattributing a VIP's secondary address as their primary, and having the record updated--this led to a VIP not receiving important mailings because they did not go to their primary address. A lock function on certain records (or certain aspects of records--like allowing gifts to be added, but not name/contact information to be changed) could have prevented this error.
