You can use Online data review today to review incoming registrations for hosts and guests, allowing you to choose which record to link the registrant to before it's added to the event. For guests specifically, they will come through Online data review when they have submitted name and at least 1 piece of contact information. Additionally, you can manage participants within the event - you can either change the participant to a constituent or you can update and change the participant to an already existing record.
