In database view the information for birthdate and death date are all on Bio1 (for primary, Gen2 for non-constituent relationship) and can be edited at the same time. In web view they are in two different places. I can add birthdate by editing personal info but I cannot also mark the constituent deceased at the same time. For that I need to choose the separate "mark deceased" from a different drop down, and add DoD. Only once the constituent is marked deceased, can that date be edited in the personal information too.
This is an additional time suck for cases when there was no birth date in the date of birth field.
We've run our database through AgeFinder but left that information on the Attributes tab because it is not always correct. If an obituary includes the person's birthdate and is not in that field in RE, I add the date when marking the donor deceased. It is helpful to have there for quick reference in order to avoid confusing records or mistaking different people for the same person who has duplicate records.
