I agree. All available fields on the donation form, whether it is a pledge or an actual payment, should be visible on the confirmation email with the transaction details. It only makes sense that we would have a record of what the donor entered. Having it display only on the gift itself is insufficient because sometimes we need to make adjustments to the information before committing the batch and so we lose the information. For example, on one of our donation forms, we use the "Comments" field to collect spouse name. Before we commit the batch, we move that information to a relationship record/spouse record and the comments field is then blank. So, if we do that, then we don't actually have record of what the donor entered on the form itself, unless that information could be included in the confirmation emails or receipts.

I ran across this last night as I made a pledge on a form and didn't see my comment that I left on the confirmation email as a donor or the notification email as a recipient. I was grateful to see that comment did come through on the gift in the batch.

As a technical fundraiser that doesn't enter gifts - I always read the comments on new gifts to see if there is something our gift entry person has not yet dealt with.

As a donor I want to have a record of the comment I made to the organization. I hope this will be moved to Voting Open soon.
