We need to know when a record was added, who added it, when it was last changed, and who last changed it. This applies to all record types, especially Gifts, Constituents, Actions, Proposals, Appeals, Funds, Events, Participants, and more.
For people who manage and maintain databases, this information gives us clues as to whether something was mis-coded. It also helps us identify who needs to be retrained, so we can correct the data entry error patterns. We use this information especially in our monthly reconciliation with our Finance team. Having it accessible from the constituent record is needed for our work.
having an audit trail to trace error message is vitally important to data and network admins.
This is critical for day to day maintenance. If I run across a gift, relationship, other other record that is entered in a way I'm not expecting, the first thing I do is go to the properties to see who entered it and when, so that I can go from there.
We use record properties many times a day. Please include on Unified View records! We encourage fundraisers to update their portfolios, opportunities and actions. The reports I have configured need certain fields to be completed certain ways. When I see something unusually it is super helpful to see when the change was made and who made it. Example: A fundraiser adds a constituent to their portfolio, adds a start date, but not a solicitor type. The solicitor type is needed for the constituent to show up in various reporting.
I vote for Teddi Taylor's suggestion -- have a small icon next to each field with who last changed it and when. Let's add better than what is in dv view!
We use properties on gift records daily when we review for accuracy. This is critical for our admins to review accuracy and help other teammates understand when an error is made. Currently I have to go back to DBV to see who added/changed a record or use a query to see who added/last changed the record. Something so simple and essential should be easily viewable on the records as they are in DBV.
This is critical to troubleshooting! Please!
Absolutely needed. I would like a little information icon next to every field to hove/click it to see when & who last changed that field. Maybe we could get something better than database view, instead of having to beg for something half as good. There are so many fields that it isn't always helpful to see a general "who last saved the record" when it could have been something small vs. who changed a particular field, which could help DBAs to identify training gaps and education opportunities for users.
I have to refer to Properties at least once a day. It would be so much easier to be able to see it on a tile vs toggling between DBV and unified.
maybe a full audit trail of changes.
so critical and needed!!!
