Let admin decide if they want gifts to group by gift date, payment method, source, etc instead of thoughtlessly lumping them into the first open batch and requiring them to manually be re-assigned to batches during review.
YES! Add configurable, rule‑based batching for gifts so transactions are automatically sorted into the correct batches based on fields like donation form or gift subtype.
In the Gift Management screen, gifts are currently pulled into daily batches by date, with only a basic separation between installment payments and donation form transactions. However, organizations often need to process different types of gifts differently—such as memberships, donations, tribute gifts, and recurring gift setups—which require different batch templates and workflows.
At present, staff must open each daily batch and manually move gifts into “like” batches. This process is time‑consuming, inefficient, and frustrating. As we transition to using NXT for all gift processing, this challenge will scale significantly, requiring staff to sort and move hundreds of transactions each week.
We would like the ability to pre‑set rules that automatically determine how transactions are sorted into batches at the time they are created. For our organization, this would ideally include sorting by donation form and/or gift subtype, but other organizations may want to sort by different fields. Flexibility is key so each organization can configure batching rules to match its operational needs.
