This is disappointing both in the response and in the way the receipting changes were made to begin with. Simply putting the donors mailing address on the back side of the receipt would have met all of the requirements and not left those of us who are stuck with two pages looking like we don't know what we're doing.

I am going to mark this one as a "will not implement" since we will not be addressing the fix in the specific way this is mentioned.

The product team did test these receipt changes, and it is not 2 pages for all sites. The fields added were required by for CRA and we also still need to meet the current requirements that this receipt be mailable physically, that is the reason for the whitespace.

There won't be any changes to the existing web view receipting functionality that exists today. We will be brining the database view Mail function forward into web view that will allow for more customization. That will eventually be our go forward solution.

Having a two page receipt is not a good look. Donors regularly complain, and rightly so. Please take all the comments and suggestions and update the receipt formatting.

Here's a sample of the tax receipt. It's just a bit blurry and a bit of extra space added at the bottom of each page because they're from screenshots of my actual receipt, but it's very close. Not sure if the product team tested and looked at the result, but please have a look here and decide if you would be happy sending this out.

I agree with all the previous comments. In addition to removing the duplicate charity and donor addresses at the top, along with the large amount of space they occupy, I would add the following:

1. The left column showing the donation information fields could be extended a bit so that the field names don't potentially flow into multiple lines.

2. The CRA website address is badly placed and should be just below the donation details, not in between the closing statement and the authorized signature.

3. There should also be some space between the last line of the letter and the authorized signature image. It looks very unprofessional with them stuck together as they are currently.

4. The fields, 'Gift type' and 'Fund', are not required on Canadian tax receipts. Our CSM passed on this message: "Removing Gift type and Fund isn’t possible because they’ve intentionally been retained for our US customers as well. We are unable to remove it for Canada." Why not? Is it difficult to have more than one receipt template and determine which is used based on a BB client's location? Better yet, give clients the ability to format their own template and customize beyond adding a logo, thank you message and signature.

Bilingual Tax receipts in WebView generate as two-pages - this is very problematic. There is way too much empty space at the top, and there is a hard-coded bilingual "thank you" message that is not necessary. Please remove the empty space and the hard-coded thank you, so the bilingual tax receipt comes out on 1 single page!

I agree! The spacing is such that the tax receipt is on 2 pages, which is not acceptable.

We also have issues with the formatting of the tax receipt generated in RE NXT and donors are complaining. We have tried all of the "fixes" and NONE of them work. This is unprofessional and needs to be addressed urgently!

Seconding Martina's request for further edits to the new Canadian Tax receipt. The spacing and formatting needs improvement!

To work around the formatting I tried printing two pages on one and ended up with a receipt 50% of the size. I logged a ticket for help and Support suggested we resize our logo and thank you message. Well we have no thank you other than the default. I tried removing our logo and resizing the ED's signature and it still prints the same size and on two pages regardless of the pixel size.

Simple changes to the layout would allow it to remain compliant and print on one page:

I - Please consider formatting the charity name, address and Reg# so that it is consolidated and uses less space.

II - Please consider removing the space between the donor's name and address.

III- Please remove the space between the signatory's name and title.

These edits would maintain the integrity of the information and save us at least five-six lines.

IV - Since we are only permitted to add a logo, thank you message and signature - please also give us the ability to print a test receipt so we can see what the formatting looks like before using it. Not doing so is like asking programmers to improve a UX without giving them a sandbox.

Lastly - if you make none of the above changes, please allow users the ability to choose "Fit to page" so that the document scales and fits on one page like it has for decades before now.
