I am working as an Advancement Coordinator at an Independent School. I am being asked to manually go through death and birth notices and look up each last name listed in birth and death notices in our database. This strikes me as a highly inefficient use of human capital, seeing as the information already exists digitally in the newspaper's database. There should be a way to partner with newspapers to provide local nonprofits with a soft copy of a list of names from the day's birth and death notices. Then Blackbaud could provide a product that could cross reference them with the nonprofit's database.
