Gifts - Add ability to link event to a gift within the Gift record

Adding the ability to link an event directly to a gift within the gift record would streamline a currently complex and time-consuming process. Right now, users must navigate through multiple layers—Events, Overview, Participants, Fees and Payments—just to associate a gift with an event. Implementing this feature would save time, reduce user frustration, and improve data accuracy by minimizing the risk of errors during manual linking. It would make the system more intuitive and efficient, especially for users managing high volumes of gifts and events.

    Here's the screenshot of the gift after some of its amount is used to pay 2 event participants' fees. Although the gift (in the payor's record) shows the event name, it does not show the name of the participant(s) of the event. It would be helpful if the participant name is listed along with the event name. Note: Coming from the other direction, if you open the fee payment of the participant, you can navigate to the gift from which the payment was made.

    Regarding my previous comment "It would be great if one gift record could be applied as payment for fees for multiple participants registered in the event.", it appears you can pay the fees for multiple participants from a gift from any constituent. Fees & Payments > Link gift > Edit (gift from) the constituent and then pick the gift.

    @AnthonyGallo This is a must for event donations.

    Currently we have Apply to Event column in Batch entry. I have found this only applies to event FEES.

    We need to be able to choose to apply the funds as a Donation or a Fee to the event.

    I was so excited when "Link to an Event" was available in Batch. We now find that this is only allowed for Fees.

    Please make this allowed for Donations to. We need to see how much an event has raised in donations also.

    Also helpful, if the linked gift was in payment for an event registration or fee, would be if the linked gift could be tied directly to an event fee (as opposed just to the event/participant), so that the receipted amount would not have to be manually corrected to match the receipt amount associated with the fee.

    It would also be good if we can link the gift to the event when while adding the gift instead of opening the gift record to link it.
