Good news: the separation you're asking for already exists at the data level. Every membership record stores its status as a distinct value (New, Active, Lapsed, or Dropped). Lapsed and Dropped are never combined into one value behind the scenes, in Database View or in RENXT.

What you're seeing in Database View is a navigation shortcut on the Membership tab. The tree view groups Lapsed and Dropped under one folder to make browsing easier, but the Standing column in the grid still shows the individual status (Lapsed or Dropped) for each row. In RENXT, the Membership tile on the constituent page lists all memberships with their individual standing shown in each row, and the tile's filter only groups by "active" versus everything else, it doesn't combine Lapsed and Dropped into a single option either.

For your reporting need specifically, when you build a Membership query and select Standing as criteria, you'll see four distinct, filterable values in the dropdown: New, Active, Lapsed, and Dropped. You should be able to filter on just Lapsed or just Dropped and skip the manual separation entirely.

Since the underlying separation already exists in the data and in Query, I'm going to mark this as "Already Exists."

Under the membership tab in Database, under membership standing the choices are Active or Lapsed/Dropped. I've attached a screenshot. We have to several queries where we have to do a lot of manual work to separate the lapsed from the dropped. It would be helpful if there were three standings - Active, Lapsed, and Dropped - all separate.

Hi Amy, can you help me understand where you are seeing the Lapsed & Dropped standings grouped together? Where exactly are you looking at database view today? (And inversely, where do you expect to see it in web view?) Thank you!
