Currently, BBMS no longer requires address information for credit card transactions, even if the “require address” option is selected. While address fields can still be made mandatory on the donation form, this cannot be enforced on the payment form itself. This change makes it harder for organizations to access complete address information in transaction lists.
Request: Please restore the ability to require address fields at the payment form level so organizations can refer to this information, especially if (for example) they are still mailing physical tickets or etc. to an event.
The address field needs to be a required field for BBMS Forms/Online Giving!!! First of all, when the address field is not required, "Automatic Constituent Matching" is less efficient, resulting in the likelihood of creating duplicate records. There is now less criteria to match on. Secondly, not having a donor's address negatively affects fundraising strategies and data analysis (mailings, personal notes, geographic segmentation and reporting.) It's just nice to know where your donors reside. Lastly, since when does a website not require an address for an online transaction.
Yes! This added feature is incredibly important because it adds an extra way to verify a constituent's identity. We have a number of constituents that are from the same family with the same name. If we only have the name, we don't know whether it is the mother or the daughter that we should be sending a personal thank-you note to.
