Allow NXT standard donor forms to accept a "true pledge"

Would like to suggest that the "Pledge" gift type on an NXT standard donor form function more like a true pledge. Meaning - when a donor selects pledge, enters their donation details (amount, date/frequency of payment) they should not be required to enter credit card information when they click the submit button. By requiring the credit card information at the time of checkout for the pledge payment intervals to automatically draft, that is essentially the same as a recurring gift.

The only difference that I'm seeing between the pledge and recurring gift options is that we as the non-profit can set the form to not allow a donor to "pledge" their due date past a specific date. While this is helpful, it doesn't give our donors the option of a "true pledge".

We consider a true pledge to be where the donor is allowed to promise that funds will be paid at a later date and they then could pay later via whatever method they prefer (cash, check, stock, donor advised fund, etc.). Also, if our definition of "true pledge" was available, it would allow the donor to select when they would like to receive a pledge reminder that would automatically generate 30 days ahead of time for us to send to them.

A true bill-me-later option is essential for donors that want us to know they've pledged a donation, but want to pay by either DAF, Volunteer Grant, Check, Cash, or any other way of paying that pledge besides credit card.

WE need the BILL ME option added to the NXT donation forms! We use this form in OLX so people can make a pledge using the form, but do NOT want to pay by credit card.

Also, adding pay later/manual pledges & recurring gifts allows us to count money expected in the future for reporting to the accounting department. Payroll deduction recurring gifts have no end date, a pledge could be towards a capital campaign and have an end date. These are paid via payroll deduction and need to be entered with a Pay Later option. If these manual Recurring Gifts/pledges, are not included in the RENXT the future recognition and tracking of campaign pledges will not be accurate. All accountability for fundraising money should be tracked fully inside Raisers Edge.
Thank you for considering keeping this feature in RE.

This was a functionality that had been available in NetCommunity and we have really missed it after our move to LO. It is a functionality that is really helpful when dealing with employee campaigns and other pledges that are not managed via credit card.

This would be amazing and very useful to allow a donor to set up a larger pledge and it can get booked.

I would also like to suggest that the pledge functionality actually BE a pledge. Currently, it's a recurring gift with an end date. We rely heavily on standard pledges that our donors can complete using non-credit card means (DAF, stock or wire transfer, etc.), and would benefit from having the option woven into a single giving form -- but can't use the "pledge" functionality in it's current iteration (because it's not actually a pledge).

100% agree. This function is vital to our gift processing. Until such a feature is available in Web View, we cannot transition to full use of Online Giving.

Yes, I was just asking if this was possible. We do payroll deductions for our staff when they pledge so they do not want to add a credit card. The functionality now is no different than recurring donation.

Yes, this functionality is already on event registration forms. We would like to use this on online donation forms for payroll giving pledges.

Yes!! Online Express pledge forms allow this.

Our Advancement Dept does not want to capture Payment info for a Pledge.

100% agree with this - it is functionality we used to have in Online Express, but has been lost in the new donation forms. Please can this simple change be enacted.

Yes! This is desperately needed, please.

Currently we are using SmartSheet forms to capture payroll deduction pledges for our employee giving campaign and any other time an employee wants to make a payroll deduction to our foundation.

It is a pain, and a bit embarrassing, to have to utilize SmartSheet, let alone the extra cost for the SmartSheet license, and then having to export that data from SmartSheet and importing it into RENXT (and we are having to do this for each of 5 of our foundations)

Also, we are having to rely on the dashboards in SmartSheet to track the giving campaigns because it is not feasible to constantly update from SmartSheet to RENXT while the campaign is in progress.

If we had the ability to accept 'Bill Me Later' pledges, we could utilize online giving forms AND the nifty dashboard feature in RENXT - I am sad that RENXT/Online Giving is getting upstaged by SmartSheets.

This is very much needed for Payroll Deductions and large campaign pledges, and our Student Call Center. Online Express donation forms allow for this. Help us keep record of our manual pledges inside RE. Truely make it "unified".

We could use a pay later option too for pledges. We have an annual employee giving program where they have an option to pay though payroll or use their paid time off (as well as a one time gift). We currently have to use the online express form to make it work. Would love to transition it over to the standard form.

I was going to mention the "Pay later" option, or something similar. Our constituents are used to true pledges, where they will generally send a check later, and this doesn't give them that option at all. We need this functionality.

Additional note...I've noticed that there is "Pledge" functionality on the Event Forms in NXT that works in the way that I described above. I'm unsure if it does the pledge reminder piece (still investigating that part), but it has the pledge-now-pay-later setup where a credit card is not required to be entered.
