Currently in database view, when entering a donation in a batch under a donor that has an outstanding pledge, an alert will pop up telling you the donor has an outstanding pledge and asks if you would like to apply the donation to the pledge. In addition, we have it set up to alert us if the donor's spouse has an outstanding pledge as well.
It still not easy to find the correct pledge to choose, specially if the constituent is paying someonelse pledge (the balance doesn't show the same in DTBV than WbV
Perhaps pledges should be an automatic/mandatory column in gift batch, otherwise it will likely be very easy to new user to miss this step entirely?
@diana glad to hear that. The feedback from you all is really help shape what it will become. This feature has already shipped. We do not have the pop up alerts at all in web view so what we did here was an alert on the pledges column alerting you that there are potential pledges you can apply to. To see this you would need to have that column added to your grid/template. Matching gifts, events, membership etc will follow this same pattern when they show up in Q3.
Loving RENXT batch, but just recently added a gift as one time when there was an outstanding pledge. Hope RENXT Batch will add the outstanding pledge alert as a feature which already exists in DB view.
It would also be nice to be able to pick from a list of pledges, for those that may have two or more pledges for different events or Funds.
Thanks, Anthony. To add to other comments, in addition to have a pop up on for open pledges turned on, we have an additional business rule pop up for any open soft-credit pledges - spouse/business etc. Is this going to be available thru pledge field on gift batch or a business rule?
Thanks, Anthony, that's helpful. It would be great if we could improve the functionality of Opportunities in batch entry, too. I have a business rule in dbv to prompt data entry to link to an outstanding proposal, if one exists on the constituent record.
I would also like to know if the functionality supports linking to outstanding pledges (matching gifts, events, opportunities, as well as linking to a fundraiser relationship) on import. This is something we currently struggle with using Importomatic: business rules don't work on import, so you need to manually check which at this point for us means me knowing/guessing there is a pledge or opportunity for that record.
Thanks, Anthony, for adding this functionality. Can this functionality detect pledges to relationships other than spouses? Donors with pledges also pay via their businesses. However, the pledge is under their personal records. I would like the pop up to activate when I have a company paying for the pledge under an individual record.
To see the notification, add the Pledges column to the batch. The notification will show in that column for any constituent that has an open outstanding pledge. We will use this pattern for other applicable items moving foward (matching gifts, events, etc.)
This has been a huge pain point for me since switching to using NXT Grid Batch. My current org has over 433 Active pledge records with balances. I know because we just did an audit. In my old organization, I knew who all 12 people were who had them. But now? I simply cannot know all 400+. We have a higher volume at my current org, and I had no idea what kind of issues not having a pledge reminder pop-up would create for me until I didn't have access to it. I may actually need to switch back to DBV until this functionality gets moved over to NXT. To go through the adjustment process, notify my Controller - catching these things after they happen, when a gift officer says a report or record looks wrong because they know the donor in their portfolio is a nightmare.
YES PLEASE!!!
What about if there is an outstanding fee to an event - that is also a pop up when gifting in DBView?
What about with recurring gifts? Is this notification and option to apply coming soon as well?
Love it! Thank you!
Love it! Thanks so much, Anthony & team!

Will it flag recurring gifts as well?
