Clean and Simple Year End Giving Statement

There doesn't seem to be a very clean way through Raiser's Edge to generate year end giving statements for donors.

  1. Giving Statements in webview are helpful, however,

    1. There's no way to customize an email or pdf generated to add customized language from the org to the donor.

    2. These include gift commitments as well as cash gifts, which means it isn't necessarily simple to follow.

  2. I saw the Knowledgebase article about year-end giving and decided to test the Annual Statement Report.

    1. Again, it's difficult to pair customized language with the way the report is generated.

    2. The report separates any gifts marked 'anonymous' into a separate statement so I can't give a donor with some gifts marked anonymous and some not, one, single statement. Even if I were to export the information into a spreadsheet, these gifts would be separated from each other.


Why not have a year end receipting tool akin to giving statements, but including only cash gifts received? This tool could include the ability to customize language sent with the statement. As far as I can tell, this would just combine capabilities within Raiser's Edge to create a functional year end statement tool.

      We are attempting to use NXT Giving Statements for the first time this year. However, as designed they are minimally useful. Aside from the ability to select gift types and choose options for how to handle the separate sections, the biggest issue for us is the complete inability to tailor the PDF or email report. We'd like to see the ability to insert customized explanatory text and add branding/logo to make the documents sent appear more authentic. The feedback we've received is that donors question these actually were sent by our organization.
