Unlock Gift type field to Allow Other Gift Type on fees in RE Event Registrations!!!!
Often a registrations for an event is fully Non-taxdeductible. Other times the Registration fee is split between a donation and a fee (not taxdeductible).
The gift type of "Other" is already available in Webview. This also needs to be available to assign to a fee type in the event registration form.
When a registration ticket is a Split gift. These split outs need to be available as separate gifts.
At the very LEAST, we should be able to change the Gift Type in the gift BEFORE it is committed/approved in batch. This will save a lot of time it takes to duplicate each gift and move them over to 'OTHER" gift type, and deleting the original gift that came in the batch.
FYI Almabase gifts that are linked do have the ability to apply the Other Gift Type to a registration fee, AND I can change the Gift Type after it is in batch, before the batch is approved. This should be available inside RE Webview also!!

It is so confusing on a constituent's profile when the registration fee for an event shows as a gift. It will be listed as the latest gift and included in lifetime giving. This leads to inaccurate reporting and is a real problem.
Our office has been using event registration through NXT since March 2024, and it has significantly improved efficiency for the back office. To work around the “One-time gift” issue, we’ve been creating a non-donation campaign.
In 2026, we plan to launch the donor portal. However, during testing, we discovered that event registration fees are being processed as gifts, which results in inaccurate reporting on the donors giving, but if they print the calendar year contributions the event registration does not appear, so that is confusing. Unfortunately, these transactions cannot be filtered out by the non-donation campaign.
We have been using the event registration in NXT since March 2024 by using a non donation campaign for events. We want to launch the Donor Portal this year (2026) but I don't think it will be possible because the portal still reports the event registrations (one time gifts) as part of the donors gifts and if the donor prints the calendar year giving, it will report event registrations as part of the donors gifts. UGH!
I agree! If we can do this in the database view through Online Express, we should be able to do this in NXT. It's so frustrating to have to redo the entire "gift" in the database view and not being able to delete what came though NXT because we have no other choice.

All monies coming in to our Institional Advancement area are not all charitable gifts. We should be able to have more the "one-time gift" as an option to choose from for these different monies to our area, including for event registrations. Sometimes we have registration fees that are 100% non charitable. We should be able to mark monies coming in as such with out having to do a work around like creating an extra $0 gift or to create a fund that all registration fees go to which still shows up in your total giving.
