Or - do not automatically adopt the appeals/campaigns from the parent gift.
Our organization has been using RE for decades now, which means our Appeals, Packages, and Campaigns lists are all quite long and unruly (we can't be the only ones, right?). In an effort to clean things up, we have marked many of these inactive. However, upon the first automated gift batch to run since making these changes, I see now that it is impossible to mark any appeals/campaigns inactive without subsequently breaking all of the gifts in the batch, since you cannot book a gift with an inactive appeal or campaign entry.
There must be a way to either stop applying the Campaign/Appeal/Package from the parent gift to the Recurring Gift Payments, or allow for gift batching of automated gifts with inactive campaigns/appeals/packages.
How do others go about keeping their database tidy while also having automated gifts?
