In database view, if you create a new table, it defaults to type = donor category. This brings with it the problem of requiring each table entry to have a unique minimum amount. I want to create a table to use to label gifts which does not involve a specific gift amount, but I cannot do so. An example of such a table would be if I want to create tags to label a set of split gifts as needing to be given special consideration in lists, regardless of any baked-in fields.
The workaround we found was to create the table via Attributes in the Configuration section. We select Table as the data type and then choose Add New Table from the dropdown menu under Table Name. This allows us to create a table which does not include a minimum amount field on it and thus circumvents the requirement that each entry have a unique minimum amount.
We need to be able to add attributes that are not the Donor Category type and if shutting off the ability to add tables from database view will disable our workaround, we cannot have it turned off for us until a solution is provided, as it will constitute a major loss of functionality.
