Database view is best utilized by a limited number of staff, with NXT best used my the majority. This is how we protect our information and keep things user-friendly for employees who do not spend their day on data entry. Our database manager is highly picky and will create custom fields that cannot be easily seen or utilized by staff. Being able to search custom lists by information hidden under attributes would be very helpful for our alumni recognition purposes.
