When more than one event is active for public registration, there should be an option to require specific attributes for one event vs. the other from an administrator standpoint. For instance, age/gender/t-shirt size for a 5k event may not be needed for a Gala event. However, when the administrator is in the Gala event in RE NXT, the administrator cannot move forward unless he/she fills out age/gender/t-shirt size because it's active for the 5K event. The administrator has to manually go in every time to uncheck the attributes in Config>Attributes>Participants, do their work in the Gala event record, then go back to check the attributes again. Hoping no one form the public is registering for 5K because they will not have the option to answer age/gender/t-shirt size
If you're managing your event in RENXT and using the RENXT online registration form, we do have a concept of "participant options" that is separate from attributes. Participant options are event-specific, you set them up for each event. So your 5K can have t-shirt size and your dinner can ask for meal options.
The downside to these is that they do not sync back to database view, so depending on how you are managing/reporting on your event, this may or may not work, but I wanted to make sure you were aware it is available.
