Our organization was looking to query on the source of gifts that came from NXT Donation Forms. Knowledge Base Article 193710 suggested creating an idea for people to vote.
The Article stated " Currently there is no field or attribute added to gifts received through an NXT donation form, so there is no filter or field available to query on".
I've just changed the status of this Idea to Planned. We just pulled in this work to our Q4 plan and we should ship sometime in November.
We'll be adding custom fields from Donation Forms for BBPSTransactionID, Donation Form Name and Donation Form Referrer (URL).
I'll update again when we've released this change!
I just experienced another reason I need to be able to see, on the gift record, which page the gift came through.
I was omitted on the Notification section of several new Event registration pages. Since I had no email stating where the gift was generated, and the Event pages don't allow us to assign automatically assign an appeal, I had to do some sleuthing to figure out what generated the gift.
I opened every donation page and searched every event participant list for all of the gifts that came through during the time period I was not receiving notifications. A giant waste of time that ought to be accomplished by including either the ability to assign Appeals on Event registration pages and/or including the registration page as a Custom field the same way OLX does.
Following up on the follow-up to my comment on the merged idea:
Thanks for the detail in this Idea! I have a followup question - while you specify you need these on the gifts themselves, where are you wanting to access this information for your comparisons or reporting? Query, Lists, Insights...?
I mainly use this for reporting. I generally use Query and Export for this purpose. I doubt I would ever use Insights for this as Insights does not seem to be able to get to the nuance I need for this particular report. The statistics on the Online Giving section are interesting for monitoring for marketing but when I need to analyze a year's worth of donations, I need to parse out the gifts in a lot of different ways. The URL is one piece but not necessarily the only piece that I would use in this report.
I literally just ran into this issue again a few minutes ago with a request from our M&C dept. We can't tell on a donor's record which NXT donation form the gift came from or how they got to the gift (URL). We use the Gift Attributes on OLX gifts extensively in dbv queries, exports, etc. I also use the Transaction GUID Id to reconcile to BBMS because yes, gifts can get lost sometimes between BBMS and RE. We use the receipt link (we are a Canadian site) to keep the receipt on file and print it for donors that have printer issues. So, we do use most, if not all, of the Gift Attributes from the OLX pages.
Really needed, doesn't take 10 months.
I cant believe this is not here already. How can I tell if the donations are online without an attribute. I can add manually but that adds an extra step and quite dull when getting through lots of donations. Please add this.
This would make some of my team members very happy if implemented.
Please can we have this. It would make life so much easier for our team.
This would be a helpful function for the new thermometer feature for NXT forms that relies on gift lists in order to work. If there was a unique gift attribute added for each form (as was done in Online Express, Net Community, Kintera Sphere) we could filter the gift list by the attribute for the specific form. This would help with marketing source code reports in addition to making the new thermometer feature more functional.
I'm having a similar issue. I can see on the gift record in the web view what NXT form the donation was made on, but that information does not appear on the gift record in the database view. You also cannot pull a Gift List based on this information in the web view to the best of my knowledge.
