Occasionally, we ask guests a question which we can reasonably assume has the same answer for the entire registering party (hosts and guests alike). We'd like the ability to limit participant options to only prompt once on an event registration form.
As an example, we recently hosted a potluck and wanted our guests to tell us what dish they were bringing. For a family registering together, the user would be prompted to provide a dish for each guest including their spouse and children. This causes confusion for the registrant, causing them to think, "Do they want me to bring a separate dish for each person in my family? That's ridiculous!"
I agree; it would be nice if in addition to "Participant Options" there were also "Host Options" that only apply once for the entire group. For example, when we have a fundraising event, we want sponsors to list their "Publish Name" when they register, so that we can capture the name for donor recognition lists the moment they register rather than tracking that down later, but we can't use "Participant Options" for this since that asks for one name per guest.
