Add class year to search results Merged

PLEASE!  Our school data base has multiple generations of men with the same name. At present, when we search they all pull and there is no class year or constituent code to differentiate between them.  I have to open three records to find the one I need.  It shows their address, which is not a recognizable point of difference, but their class year would be.  PLEASE add their constituency code or class year into the search results.

We are very thankful for the enhanced search features!

Other identifying details we use frequently are:

    • City
    • State
    • Date of last gift
    • Amount of last gift
    • Lifetime giving amount

The ability to filter by each field is another valuable tool we would use daily.

Jarod, I know there are other Ideas with similar requests, but in response to your comment from today (which has a timestamp of about 4 hours in the future!)...

I search by address quite often, but I need to be able to use wildcards (although it's not necessary to have RE put a wildcard at the end automatically).  Wildcards are extremely useful when looking for possible duplicates with a typo or misspelling, which we have frequently in data that is entered from handwritten sheets.  It would also be nice to specify which field NXT should search.  If I am looking for my own record using my street name, Meadow, NXT will bring up any records with a name containing Meadow (this isn't currently an issue, as I can't search by address, and would have to include the house number if I could).

Of the search fields in 7, I use Last/Org, First, Constituent ID, Address Lines, and on occasion, Email/Phone.

I usually have the following boxes checked: Display Inactive, Display Deceased, Check Aliases, Check Contact Name, Check Nickname.  Occasionally I use Exact Match Only.  Never do I check Use Enhanced Search.

Also, I use a customized Query for the Search Results that shows me quite a lot of information that is oftentimes hugely helpful.

Not sure you're there yet, but when using the Search Window for Gifts, I really want Gift ID.  In fact, most times, I end up using a Query that I have saved to my Favorites which has Criteria of Gift ID equals ___ since Gift ID is not a Search Field for Gift Records.

Just following up on this idea - Now that we have released a "View all results" page with some additional identifying details (alias, spouse, constituent ID, etc) I'm curious, what's missing that is "must have" for you organization? I know class year, suffix, and constituent codes are all listed here, but we have plans to overhaul search in 2017 and don't want to distract from other value add features for something that is going to be replaced later. That being said, we do want to help support all of our clients for their immediate needs around search, so let me know what fields, if any, are being requested. Depending on the responses we may close this idea and open separate ideas for each field or piece of information to better view needs and interest for help with prioritization. Thanks!

This functionality is not available yet in web view but we are working a "full results" list that will probably address some of what you are concerned with. This functionality IS available if database view, however, as is generally anything and everything that you are familiar with from Raiser's Edge 7.

In Raiser's Edge we can customize the search box to include the fields that are most useful to individual users, is this functionality not built in NXT? Is it at least available in the database view of NXT?

It would also be nice to expand the search tool to open to another window if you need more than the eight records provided to identify a constituent.
