Need Notes to log important comments on individual event registrants ... eg, who else they might invite, whether or not they are tentative about attending, etc. We rely on NXT exclusively when on the road meeting donors. So glad you included this field in database version but do not have access to it when traveling. If you have this valuable feature in one platform why would you not have it in the other?!! please add asap.
We have shipped a new feature that lets you view/add/edit/delete a participant summary note on the participant record in Webview. There is also a new column that can be added to your Participant List called participant summary that will let you easily see a participant note from the list, as well as include it in an export.
Full details will be coming out later today in the What's New!
Just a quick update on this Idea - we have started development and plan to ship this in the next few months! I'll post again here when this is shipped (the usual notification in the What's New will also include it at the appropriate time!)

Thank you for your Idea! I've opened it for voting, which helps us as we prioritize future work.
In reading through your use case above, I wanted to make sure you were aware of the "participant option" feature that's available in webview. While this is a webview-only feature - it doesn't go back into database view, it may be helpful depending on how you manage your staff and who's in webview and who's in database view. You can create a participant option from the event record for "Constituent comments" - and make it a text field. From the participant record in webview, you can then add this participant option and put in your comments around who else they may invite, etc. This field is exportable from the participant list and will display on the participant record.
In regards to marking someone as tentative, we will be adding that as a registration status later this year so hopefully a more built-in way to track that will be useful for you!
While these are a bit different from what you're asking, they may help get you by until a notes field is included!
Thanks,
