Marketing > Email > Send email with preferred name, fallback to first name
There's currently no way to send an email and specify any logic around any of the merge fields. I realize this is meant to be a light tool, but there should at least be a simple tag to insert <Preferred name or first name if unavailable>. The name field is otherwise useless for personalization.

I can't agree more with the previous comments. NXT is half usable for Marketing Emails and that is what it was design for. Make it 'flexible'

We require more field options period - a formatted salutation. Donors are tired of receiving Dear Mike instead of Dear Joan and Mike, especially if Joan is the donor.

Totally agree!! Would hate for emails to go out and have blank fields.

I totally agree. I just created a query on blank "Nickname" and exported the "First name". Then replaced the Nickname with the First name found on the record and imported. It would be very helpful for NXT Marketing to default to the first name if no nickname is found.
