Ability to add spouse ID in a gift batch from the Constituent Fields list when spouse has a constituent record

This question is pertaining to Raiser's Edge on the Web. When entering gifts we give the spouse soft credit if they have a record.  If the spouse's name doesn't automatically populate on the soft credit tab we have to open the constituent record and check the spouse tab to see if they are a constituent.  For some reason, even if the spouse has a record, it doesn't always show as a soft credit.
