It is really challenging that status overrides status code in RE NXT actions. A suggestion was to use a custom field for attributes to an action. For example if one part of the action is pending with a donor (awaiting submitted grant proposal decision). However, custom fields are not available for exporting, so we can't track whether a grant proposal that has been submitted is still pending.
