Remove Deleted Campaigns/Funds/Appeals from web view filters

No one's database is perfect, and bad data gets in. When you are able to clean up and delete items, they should be deleted universally from RE, not just from database view. We have been working on cleaning and standardizing our appeals, including deleting obsolete or unused ones. We discovered that those appeals remain available as options in the filters; this is unacceptable!

CFAs that are deleted should not be available as filters in RE web view.

I just opened a case with Support with the same issue. I deleted 72 funds in database view (all had been previously marked Inactive) and all still show in the Reporting in NXT (Overview drop down list of Funds). Frankly, I think there should be an option to exclude Inactive funds from the list - but I took the time to clean up our records and delete those funds entirely so that the Reporting in NXT would be cleaner. This is so frustrating!

Yes, this is what I mean by it's a little too complicated for a Support chat! You're correct that those funds are no longer there - but my users don't necessarily know which funds were deleted (or which Fund Descriptions were removed). They have more than 200 funds in a filter we set for them months ago, but can only view 200 at a time. They see the number as accurate - 311 is 311 so nothing changed, right? - and are unaware that they have to reselect hundreds of funds for a list they're accessing weekly for several months. Not all of my users are fund managers, and they don't want to recreate these lists from scratch every week.

Keri, the count doesn't change on the user interface showing the total number of items selected. However, the resulting records do not include anything for the funds deleted. You will also notice that in the items to filter by, your deleted fund is no longer available. If you were to clear the picker, and then select the available funds again, the total items selected would change.

Emmet, I believe Support is following back up with you soon on this. I can tell that you clarified and restated you are discussing DELETED, and you did not mean Inactive. As you noted in your response back to Support, these are not that same.

Blake, this is not what my experience shows nor what the support team has told me. We deleted about 100 appeals on Saturday; as of this morning, they still show up as options in the filters on Fundraising > Reporting.

Here is the part of the email I received yesterday from the support team about this:

This is Catherine from Blackbaud Support. I'm writing in reference to case number 017281222, which we have open regarding inactive and deleted appeals still showing in the filters in web view.

It appears that this is a known limitation in the NXT web view that is working as we expect it so.

Hi Blake, I noticed that the *count* doesn't change. If my Fund Description changes, it's no longer picked up in the Fund Filter on a List, but the number of funds filtered stays the same. It's still looking for that original Fund Description. I'm never sure about submitting this to Support, because it's hard to explain to the lower levels of customer success and it really needs to go directly to the Lists team(s). It's also hard to test with Support because you have to wait for the List data to refresh before you can check.

Emmet, this is Blake with the products team. Thanks for sharing this feedback. To be clear, if your appeal is deleted in the database view, it will be removed from Lists and Reports the next time the respective refresh occurs. If you are not seeing this reflected, reach out to our support team at http://www.blackbaud.com/support to report this error in your data.

    Hope this helps.
