In the database view this is not the case; the donor's gift record shows the split amount(amount soft credited to this donor) not the total amount.  In NXT the total amount is shown, and one must look at the gift detail to understand that only part of that was the soft credit to this donor.  This is quite confusing for ordinary NXT users. Split gifts are problems in NXT in other areas as well; creating gift lists with gifts split between two campaigns, for instance.  The total amount is shown instead of the split amount.
