Please add functionality to edit the fundraiser and reference notes on a gift, regardless of posting status, and specific security rights to do only that (users should not be able to add gifts or edit other gift coding). Fundraisers see gifts in the system that should be credited to them and need the ability to make that change.
Yes! Sometimes data entry isn't aware that a gift has been solicited by a fundraiser and it needs to be done after the fact.
This has become an increasingly important function for webview to have as we're starting the countdown of sunsetting database view. We constantly update the fundraiser on the gift after initial entry. Sometimes it's to add a Board member or to correct a gift where the constituent is assigned to a specific fundraiser, but the gift was worked on by another fundraiser. Right now in webview, we cannot edit the fundraiser on the gift for all gift types and we cannot edit the fundraiser on the gift for any gifts that are posted to GL. It is a huge problem if the fields that are locked after posting to GL change between what's always been editable after posting in database and what is editable after posting in webview. We should be able to edit fields that only affect RE and don't effect finance at any time and ensuring a continuity of gift entry behavior between the systems is critical to us and other org's processes.
In WebView, we often need to update the fundraiser regardless of the type of gift. We can edit the fundraiser in database view, regardless of the posted status or gift type, but cannot in WebView. Updating the fundraiser ensures the gift will be accurate. This is critical because gift entry staff does not always know who the fundraiser is, and needs to be updated after the gift has been entered.
