This alert would be useful because sometimes actions are changed or updated without the knowledge of the assigned solicitor. There should be an option to turn on or off the alerts, but there should be an option. For instance, two fundraisers are scheduled to call a prospect on December 25th at 10 am. As time goes by, one fundraiser realizes that the date and the kind of action have changed and they will make the updates to the record. The second fundraiser should receive an "alert" that the action has been updated. I think it will keep everyone in the know in real time.
