NXT is limited to show only 4 pages of actions and notes, which may be confusing for some fundraisers. There is also not an indication that there is only 4 pages as when you are on the 4th page the arrow to go to the next page is still there.
Reading the forums it looks like this issue was first flagged in 2016! It concerns me that a basic UI issue like this hasn't been fixed in 8 years, given that the correct functionality is already present for things like gifts.
I also note that there are at least four entries in "Ideas" for this issue, which is splitting the votes and perhaps meaning this isn't getting the attention it needs. I have my doubts about the voting system as a way to prioritize issues, if things like this which are important and presumably easy to fix are being ignored just because they're unexciting and easy for most users to miss.
Our Director of Sponsorships almost had a heart attack when THE most important Action on one of her donor's records didn't show in the tile. It was there one day, and the next it had disappeared simply because she had added a new Action which bumped out to the "fifth" page. Even if there was an Actions link next to the pages that said "Click here to see more" that would be great.
It's definitely confusing and not noted that the tile will not load more than 4 pages. I would also add that you can't delete notes that don't appear on the tile/4-page view.
Just wanted to chime in again since there's been more focus recently on ideas: I wholeheartedly agree with the other comments, and the inconsistency with the way this functions affects the user experience and makes it easy for fundraisers to miss important information.
Keri has it...consistency is key in database management and also in database development! Unless there is a specific and very valid reason for something to function differently, similar features should function in a consistent fashion.
Yes, it would be helpful if there was more direction on where to view all of the notes and actions. If we can only view 20 on the grid, would be nice have embedded text or something that says, "see full list".
The top of the Notes and Actions tile has a number "32 Actions" or whatever. That will tell you how many are available - only 20 are in the displayed list. The gifts tile has "work with gifts" to get to the list of gifts, for Actions, you have to click on that "32 Actions". And if the RE user doesn't know that the tiles only display 20 items max, they might not realize the "32 Actions" would show something different.
I think the problem here is that there needs to be a little more consistency and transparency in the tile design.
This is also the case for the gifts tile, but the media tile goes through as many pages as needed instead of stopping at page 4. This is especially confusing and problematic for fundraisers, who often scroll back to what they think is the last page of gifts and notes/actions to see how far back our history goes with donors before reaching out to them. They get to page 4 thinking that's the earliest activity, when in fact our first contact with the donor can be many years beforehand. If it's not possible to have more than pages of gifts or notes/actions, can there at least be a visual indicator that there are more pages beyond that aren't displaying?
