We don't create actions for each individual email instead, we try to keep activity with a specific outcome together in one action, and update the action as the conversation evolves. We are trying to avoid the sea of insignificant actions clogging up records, while also retaining activity information.
For instance: I have a donor who prefers email communications, and we are emailing back and forth about setting up a meeting. I would like to be able to update last week's action, when I receive a reply from her this week.
Another example would be: I left a voicemail to set up a visit, but the donor responds to my voicemail via email. I'd like to be able to update the VM action to reflect that I heard back.
P.S. it would also be nice to be able to choose whether the action stays open or is marked completed, while in the MS add-in action.
YES! Agreed! It would be so helpful if we could add a follow-up to an existing action.
Yes, having an entire email thread sync once the initial email is sync'd would be very helpful.
