Currently in Events in RE NXT, the only way to add an event form is as an "Online registration form" (see screenshot). We had an event in which we had participants pre-register with a form that used only "registration fees". Many of the participants were registered as guests (both named and unnamed). We had a separate form for day-of-event purchases (raffle tickets, etc) that only used "other fees". Because all of the forms are considered registration forms, when guests purchased day-of items, the system created a duplicated participant record for them within the event. It did not matter whether the guest was a pre-existing constituent or not.

Unfortunately, there is no functionality to merge duplicate participants, so correcting this data will be a tedious manual process. It would be helpful to have, as part of a non-registration form, the ability to select during form setup an option to "create participant record if there is no match" (would include an unmatched data review process). For example, if a previously unnamed guest made day-of purchases, they would be added as a participant, which could then be merged with the correct unnamed guest record (assuming the duplicate participant merging is possible) so as to keep hosts and guests grouped together. If they are a named guest, then the purchase would simply be added to their existing participant record, without ungrouping them from their host.
