Pinning Critical Custom Fields for Gift Entry

Our organization relies heavily on accurate, real-time data to track fundraising performance and maintain clean records. Currently, during Gift Entry in Raiser’s Edge NXT Web View, users must manually navigate a two-step dropdown process to populate organization-specific custom fields. Because these fields cannot be "pinned" as visible data entry columns or mandatory fields on the main screen, there is an increased risk of data entry omission. Implementing a way to surface these fields directly on the primary entry screen will eliminate data gaps, drastically reduce manual cleanup time, and protect data integrity.

  • Lack of Visual Prominence: Critical internal tracking fields (e.g., specific internal tracking codes, and internal operational tags) are buried inside the generic "Custom Fields" panel.

  • High Risk of Omission: Because these fields are not front-and-center as default grid columns during batch entry, gift processors can frequently overlook them during high-volume periods.

  • Compounded Clean-up Costs: Every missed field requires downstream administrative hours to identify via audit queries, research, and manually make adjustment.

We would like the ability to pin specific custom fields as native columns or visible entry boxes within the Gift Entry and Gift Batch web view layout. By treating high-priority custom fields with the same visual weight as standard fields (like "Amount" or "Gift Date"), we can ensure that every single gift is fully and accurately coded the moment it is received.
