Because there isn't an opportunity query type, many users are exporting opportunity lists to build their opportunity update import files. This works great, but the only unique identifier available for use is the opportunity system record ID. Raiser's Edge Import doesn't support the use of System Record ID.

This gives users no other option than to either manually retrieve the Import ID (which at that point, they might as well manually update the records), or export the Import IDs via Query/Import and use Excel functions to match the opportunities in the opportunity list to their Import ID. Too much work for a simple task.

Sure, you could work around this by using SKY API to import your updates using the system record ID, but your average user does not have the skillset to accomplish this through SKY API and it's a lot of work to build an application just to work around native Raiser's Edge functionality.
