Keep the Import Validation Option when moving import to Web View

I was shocked to see on the planned features table for RENXT that Import Validation is in an "Undecided" state.

Please maintain the ability to validate import files before running the actual import process. Validation is a critical safeguard that helps organizations ensure data quality and prevent unintended changes to their database

The import process can make significant changes to records and in many cases, those changes cannot be easily reversed. The validation feature allows users to test an import without modifying any data, giving them confidence that their file is ready before committing those changes.

The validation process provides several key benefits:

  • Identifies errors and data issues before records are imported.

  • Highlights potential constituent matches, helping users identify and prevent duplicate records before they are created.

  • Allows users to correct issues in advance rather than discovering them after data has already been imported.

  • Reduces the need to run imports multiple times while troubleshooting file formatting or data problems.

  • Saves time and effort by catching issues early in the process.

Protects database integrity and reduces post-import cleanup work.

Removing validation would increase the risk of data errors, duplicate records, and unintended database updates. It could also create additional work for database administrators who would need to spend more time correcting issues after imports have already been completed.

Validation is an invaluable quality-control tool that helps ensure imports are accurate, efficient, and reliable. Preserving this capability will continue to help organizations maintain clean data and avoid costly cleanup efforts.
