Currently the Goal Meter in an online gift form only reflects what the FORM brings in. That is not helpful for donors as that isn't their reference point. They want to see their gift impact for your Campaign or Event. They don't care about how well the form is meeting its expectations. Instead of having to MANUALLY add offline gifts to a Fund Goal, can't you choose the option to link the entire fund amount, instead of just reflect the form goal?
Agreed! This should reflect the fund goal
I feel that marking this "already exists" is incorrect, as you have offered a workaround via a website component, not my request to add it to the optimized form. I still feel that the donor has no interest in how the form is performing.
Samantha McGuin, Thank you for your review and reply. You are correct, I was referring to an Optimized Form.
We chose that solution because we wanted its live donation display for donors encountering the QR code throughout their visits over the weekend, overnight, etc. It's just an idea, but I did wonder why posting the form results instead of the fund results would be of interest to the donor.
Are you using the goal meter that is part of the Optimized Form, or the Website Component goal meter?
What you're asking for already exists in the Website Component Goal Meter, you can set the goal meter to a gift list for its source instead of sourcing from the donation form. This does have a few caveats - because it's pulling from a gift list which is looking at gift records, the donation has to be approved for it to show up in the goal meter's total. But, it will then automatically pull all gifts based on your gift list criteria, which can include campaign, fund, appeal, etc.
I've created a Gift List in NXT web view and set the criteria I needed to use in goal meters. You do this under "Source", select "Gift List" and link that to the Gift List you created.
Maybe this method will work for what you need?
