When posting gifts in webview, the option to "Group the transactions by Batch" does not exist, as it does in database view. This grouping by batch is important to our review process and makes the review of gifts by supervisory staff cleaner and simpler before the gifts are posted. As an alternative, if the batch number was available in a column in the review screen before posting, we could sort by that column and accomplish the same thing.
When I asked BB Support about this issue, they suggested I use a query for each batch which would allow us to review and post each batch one-by-one. We actually don't need to post each batch separately, but just be able to review the pre-posting screen sorted/grouped by batch. The suggested workaround of using queries would require more time and more clicks than what is needed currently in database view.
I agree to include this. Also, when I tried to "pre-post" in webview a couple of times to try out the process, I noticed that the settings that I selected didn't stay. I had to go back to database view, see what I have there, and click those preferences again. Quite frankly, the entire pre-posting process is missing because there really is no pre-posting report. I have to go to post to get the reports I need (that are formatted differently than dbv) and the reject the post. Really need that pre-post process...
This will be a huge help when reviewing the pre-posting screen. In database the process is much simpler.
Another vote for moving over the option to group transactions by batch. Agree with everything Jill already listed. Posting separately by batch for those of use who do not post gifts by batch (and we have some batches that have only 1 or 2 gifts) will make the process more onerous and time consuming both for those working in RE and for our Finance department who work in FE.
