Online Giving Forms recently added parameters for Campaign, Fund, Appeal, and Package. This is a big help.

This idea is about adding parameters for the Comment field (aka Gift >> Reference in DB View), Custom Fields, and Tributes. This would give fundraisers more options with donation forms to share forms for memorials or were inspired by certain initiatives or programs that we log with custom fields or reference.

For example, we are an animal shelter and donors want to give towards specific animals. We cannot add every animal as an appeal or package in our database, but we do want to capture the donor's intent and tie it to specific stewardship actions if that animal is adopted. Having a URL parameter that would pass through to the Comment/Reference field or a Custom Field would give us a way to create links for specific animals so we can better track and reach out to those donors when an animal is adopted.

I'm sure other organizations could also find creative uses for a parameter that is a free text field with their donation forms.
